The film focuses on the huge role that shrines, Sufis and saints play in the lives of ordinary and extraordinary people. Primarily the film is about ritual and what people believe, and why, through 'on location' interviews with 'known' saints and holy people, devotees, and scholars. The film also explores the religious, philosophical, historical and cultural aspects through interviews. Vibrant and powerful footage of shrines, activities, rituals, gestures and actual exorcisms provides the visual backdrop for the film. Sound and music are a mix of religious chants, qawwalis, recitations, and native audio. |
